Ocean Room News
Hello and Goodbye!
This month we will be welcoming new friends Oliver and Carson to our infant room! We are saying goodbye to our 1 year old friends Emma, Mira, and Drew, good luck in the Farm Room!
This Month
This month we will ask families to bring in pictures for us to make family collages to hang in our room. We will also be doing some fun sensory activities!
Farm Room News
This month we will be doing a holding hands project and circle of friends project in our room to emphasize the theme.
This month we will be welcoming Lilly, George, Jack, Emma, Drew and Mira.
Nora, Claire and Willa will be moving to the Jungle Room.
Happy birthday to: Frankie on 9/1, Mira on /915 and Emma on 9/28.
Jungle Room News
Jungle Room Happenings!
We will be taking this month to learn all about ourselves and our friends by discussing our bodies, feelings, colors, and all about me! We will be asking families to bring in family photos for a collage (these pictures will be cut and laminated, so please make sure that they are copies!), so be on the lookout for a note home!
Greetings and Goodbye
We are very excited to welcome Willa, Claire, and Nora from the Farm Room and a new friend Madelyn! We are so happy for our friends who get to make the move up to the Forest Room; Max, Aurelia, Jason, and Jackson. We will miss all of you but know you will do wonderful in your next Academy adventure!
We are sad to say that Friday 8/28 was Miss Riley’s last day. She is going back to school and we cannot wait to see her again next summer!!

A big Happy Birthday to our friend Max, who will be turning 3 this month and making the move to the Forest Room!

Forest Room News
Hello from the forest room friends!
Summer is coming to an end and with the fall approaching it is time to say goodbye to oldest friends heading to the town room: Charlie, Sammy, Jacey, Cecelia and Lewie- we will be eager to see and play with you all on the playground! We would also like to welcome Aurelia, Jackson, Maxwell, Jason, Trevor and Gianna to our classroom and we are looking forward to teaching a lot of new concepts to them! A big congratulations to Miss Angela who got married this weekend! She will be going on her honeymoon and will return on September 9th. September is all about family friends feelings and manners so if you have any materials at home that your child would like to share to help teach these themes, please bring them in! Town Room News
Reminders:
*Please bring in a water bottle with your child’s name on it on Monday or their first day of the week and then bring it home on Friday or the last day of their school week!
*Please make sure to be here for breakfast by 8:30am or call no later than 8:15am if your child will not be able to make it by then as these are prepared ahead of time!
*Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate/comfortable clothes for gym class on Tuesday.
* Please only have your child bring in “toys” on Fridays for Show & Tell as it is a distraction from our daily routines the rest of the week.
*Please bring home all water bottles, towels, bathing suits and bedding home on your child’s last day of the school week to be washed.
*Please drop your child off quickly with a wave or hug goodbye at the door as this seems to always be an easier transition for the child. If you have any important info for us teachers you can call, email kim@theacademyforactivelearners.com or leave a note on their clipboard!

Goodbyes and Welcomes
In the first week of September we will be welcoming a new friend named Logan to our classroom! We will also be saying sad goodbyes to our big Kindergarteners. We will greatly miss them, but wish the best of luck to Myles, Wyatt, Jack and Noah! In the second week we will start transitioning our friends from the Forest Room who are moving up, then officially welcome Cecelia, Lewie, Charlie, Jacey and Sam in the third week!
Sign In/Out Sheets
We are making a change in our sign in/out sheet process. Parents will no longer be responsible for signing there children in and out daily. From now on your child(rens) teacher will be signing you in and out each day to avoid confusion when you come in to get your child(ren).
Billing
Now that Kayla is back from maternity leave we wanted to let you know that Pat will continue to do all of the invoicing. You can continue to send any questions to billing@theacademyforactivelearners.com.
Mindy vacation
Mindy and Pat will be taking their annual family vacation to Florida on September 15-25. Pat will be doing invoicing still with some assistance with Kayla. We are always available via email with questions.

Be on the lookout for an order form in your child(ren)’s cubby. On the order form there are 5 options of backgrounds, but she will be bringing a brick and plain wood option. Please email her if you would like to see what they look like at carriecaporino@gmail.com .
Welcome Potluck
We are so excited to have some new families starting with us this fall. We want them to feel as welcome as possible and will be having a Potluck September 29th from 4-5pm. We will have a sign up sheet on the hallway white board for those who would like to bring something. We look forward to seeing you all there!
General Reminders
*The Academy’s theme for the month of September is Welcome And Meeting Friends!
*Fall is fast approaching so please remember to pack your child a sweatshirt or light jacket to keep them as comfortable as possible while we play outside.
*Reminder that our next holiday is next Monday 9/7 in celebration of Labor Day.

We had our monthly fire drill on August 12th at 12:15.
