Hello to our wonderful families!

Here’s a peek at what’s been going on this month at The Academy!

General Reminders

* It is getting chilly outside, please make sure to bring in weather appropriate coats, shoes, hats, and mittens as needed.

*We will be closed Monday October 12th for Columbus Day.

Parents Night Out

We will be having a Parents Night Out on October 23rd from 6-10PM. Please fill out the following form and return it to your child(ren)’s teacher if you would like your child to participate.

Halloween Party and Trick or Treating

Please join us on October 30th for our annual Halloween party at 3:30. Each classroom will be doing fun Halloween activities within their classrooms and we would love parents to join us to take their child(ren) trick or treating from room to room. You can send your child to school in their costume or bring it to put on after rest time. We look forward to seeing all of the kiddos costumes this year!

Potluck Date

We will be rescheduling our Potluck for this Thursday the 8th from 4-5pm. Look for our sign up sheet on the hallway white board, we hope you will join us!

Ocean Room News

We are excited to see Eoighan moving up to the Farm Room at the end of this month, we know he will do great! We are also excited to have Genny joining us!

This month we will be doing some fun Halloween crafts and sensory activities with footprints.

Farm Room News

We are excited to welcome Eoighan at the end of this month to our room!

Our activities this month will include painting pumpkins, playing with pumpkin seeds in the sensory table, making a leave collage and getting ready for Halloween! We are looking forward to playing outside in the cool air!

Jungle Room News

Jungle Room Happenings

This month we will be talking about pumpkins, apples, leaves, and Halloween. We will be painting and carving pumpkins, doing some apple stamping, and some fun baking projects. We will also be going on a leaf hunt outside! If parents have any fun fall activities to share, please let us know!

Happy Birthday!

We want to wish a big happy birthday to our friends this month!! Happy Birthday to Lillly 10/5, Claire 10/4, and Willa 10/27. Remember if you would like to bring something in for your child to celebrate with their friends we are a nut free center.

Check out our daily calendar here for specials, fun days, and our weekly themes!

Don’t forget to check your child’s day sheets on top of their cubby for any notes or reminders about their day.

FOREST ROOM NEWS

We are very thankful that our new friends are adjusting nicely to the routine of the classroom!
We have a lot of fall themed art work planned for October as well as activities planned learning about farm animals at the fair, scarecrows and Halloween fun!

Reminders:

Crib sheets, blankets, lovie, pillow, hat and a water bottle should be brought in each Monday and brought home on the last day of your child’s week for washing.

Please keep a long sleeve shirt, zip up, or sweat shirt on your child’s hook outside the classroom for days where it’s brisk for outdoor play.

Please keep home toys in backpack or at home until Fridays for our show and share day.

Town Room News

We have had a great start with our new class! Charlie, Cecelia, Lewie, Sam and Jacey have officially moved into our classroom from the Forest Room and are doing great! We just want to remind parents that for some children it takes some time for them to adjust completely (especially at drop off).

This month our theme is “Harvest Happenings”! The first week will be “Time for Fall”, the second “Four Seasons of the Year”, the third “Music” and the fourth “Halloween”! Check out our themes and weekly fun days here

We would love to have our families come celebrate our Halloween Party with us as, we will be singing some Halloween songs for you!

Fire Drill

We had our Monthly Fire Drill this month September 21st.
