General Reminders
* Please make sure that your child(ren) has weather appropriate outdoor
clothing (hat, mittens, snow pants, winter coat, and boots) for this month, we
will be going outside all winter and want to make sure everyone is as
comfortable as possible.
* Also please provide your child with indoor shoes or slippers, with the wet
weather we want everyone’s feet to stay dry and warm.
Upcoming Holidays
Closed December 21-25th for Christmas Break
Christmas Break Payment: If your payment falls on a day that we are
closed for Christmas Break (12/21-12/25), you can leave post-dated
checks in the tuition box before break (12/18) or in the outside mailbox by
noon on Friday 12/25.

Holidays Party
We will be having our annual Holiday Party December 16th @ 3:30. Please join us for some fun festive activities in your child’s classroom(s).
The Town and Forest Rooms will be holding their Holiday Concert in the gym and will be having their parties after.
Toys for Tots
In the spirit of giving this Holiday season we will be hosting our
annual Toys for Tots Drive starting today and ending Monday December
14, 2015! Please feel free to donate any NEW, UNWRAPPED TOY to the donation box in the entryway. Thank you in advance for your generosity
this holiday season!
Winter Closing
Please keep in mind the following info as we enter our winter storm season!
–Most of our teachers live close-by and we are all dedicated to being here during storms. If we do not have power we will need to close. In the event that the roads are too treacherous and the forecast is dismal enough that we do need to close, notice will be given to the following television stations and websites:
-Channel 6 WSCH, website: wsch6.com
-Channel 8 WMTW, website:wmtw.com
-Channel 13 WGME, website: wgme.com
*When checking on websites please they are alphabetical, please check under “T” for The Academy.
**If we have an early closing we will close at 1pm we will send an email to all of our families as well as place on tv stations.

Ocean Room Happenings
During the month of December in the Ocean Room, we will be making mistle”toes” with their footprints, and reindeer with their handprints and footprints. We will also be making a Christmas present for parents.

Jungle Room News
Jungle Room Happenings
This month we will be talking all about winter! We will be doing activities with winter clothes, holidays, and winter animals. If you have any fun winter books you would like to share with the class for a day please bring one in!
Our Elf on the Shelf, Bernard, is visiting us from the North Pole. The kids love to find him in his new spot every morning!

General Reminders:
*We are working hard on potty training with all of our kiddos. One of the big things that we work on with them when going to the bathroom is pulling up their pants by themselves. When dressing them in the morning please think about clothes that will be easy for them to use the bathroom in.
*Snow Pants season is here! A lot of friends having the same color or brand of snow pants please make sure everything is labeled to avoid mix ups.
Forest Room News
Forest Room Happenings
This month we will be focusing on the idea of Welcoming Winter! This
means talking about appropriate clothing to wear when its very cold, talking about
arctic animals, snow, and also ideas that surround the holidays such as Christmas,
Hanukah, and Kwanza!! Our color of the month is Blue and we will be specifically
working on becoming more familiar with the letters G, H, and I!

Hellos and Goodbyes:
This month we will be saying “Hello” to our new Forest Room friend Bella! Bella is
3 years old and says some of her favorite things are the color pink, spaghetti, and
playing at home with her mommy! Welcome Bella!

Town Room Happenings
I wanted to thank all our parents who made it out to conferences last
week! We really appreciate your involvement and cooperation! If you have
not had one yet and would like to still set one up, please let Miss Kim know
and I would be glad to make those arrangements! Our weekly themes this
month are: Snow, Hibernation, Holidays & New Year’s /Winter Fun!

Hellos and Goodbyes:
This month we want to first and foremost welcome our new teacher Miss
Kara!!! We are so excited to have her join our classroom as we know she will be a
